Application:
Pharmacological application: Mainly acts on the colon. After oral administration, it slowly decomposes under the action of small intestinal alkaline intestinal juice to form soluble sodium salt, thereby stimulating the inner lining of the intestinal wall, directly acting on the intestinal smooth muscle, increasing intestinal peristalsis and inhibiting at the same time. The absorption of water in the intestine causes water and electrolyte to accumulate in the colon, causing a laxative effect. Its effect is moderate, rarely causing intestinal cramps. For the treatment of habitual intractable constipation.
